Superb long pendulous crimson bottle-brush flowers during mid-summer. This exotic-looking plant has proved to be reliably hardy with narrow dark green evergreen leaves. The shrub grows to around 1 metre and is ideal for smaller gardens. Can also be used as a wall shrub. Introduced by us in 1992. |

We had grown this plant for many years as Callistemon linearis, but it is quite clearly distinct from that species, and has proved its worth over the past 15 years. We have proposed to give our production of this strain a name 'Crimson Tail' to distinguish the plants from this provenance. Whilst these plants are seed-raised from our own provenance, we believe that this gives us continued development over the hardiness for the UK climate. Plants generally start flowering in their 3rd year. |
